GALAXY – a eye-catching and technically versatile LED outdoor luminaire

GALAXY is a modern LED outdoor luminaire designed for professional use by our partner company Elektro Lumen. It is particularly suitable for lighting streets, parks, pedestrian and cycle paths, squares, and other public outdoor spaces. The luminaire seamlessly combines energy-efficient LED technology and a long service life with a distinctive modern design. GALAXY has received the German Design Award 2024 (in the Excellent Product Design - Lighting category) and the Red Dot Design Award, as well as recognition from BIG SEE.

Versatile optics and lighting solutions

In addition to the standard models selected for the online store, GALAXY can be configured with a wide range of power, colour temperature, and optics options, allowing it to be precisely adapted to the requirements of the site. In addition to special optics designed for road and area lighting, the range includes directional special optics that allow the light produced by the luminaire to be precisely directed as required and dimensioned for different lighting geometries.

The luminaire's colour temperature options are 2200 K, 2700 K, 3000 K and 4000 K. A BLUE FREE™ / AMBER solution is also available, in which the proportion of blue light has been significantly reduced. In addition, the semi-arched sections at the ends of the GALAXY can either be backlit with coloured LEDs or the white LED modules can be covered with coloured diffusers. These special colours and their combinations can be used, for example, to visually distinguish areas, routes, and parking areas, and to adapt the luminaires to the visual identity of a city or company. Energy-efficient technology and readiness for smart control

GALAXY uses advanced LED technology that enables a long service life and low operating costs. The manufacturer specifies a service life of over 100,000 hours (L90) for the LED modules, and the luminaire can also be equipped with Constant Lumen Output (CLO), which allows the consistency of the luminous flux to be controlled throughout the luminaire's service life.

The standard models sold in Finlight's online store are equipped as standard with a DALI 2-controllable control gear. Alternatively, the luminaire can be equipped with Zhaga and NEMA interfaces or a D4i control gear that enable wireless lighting control, allowing it to be integrated into modern lighting control and smart city systems.

Durable construction for demanding outdoor conditions

GALAXY is designed to withstand year-round outdoor use. The robust die-cast aluminium body is surface-treated with a matt powder coating. IP66 ingress protection rating and an operating temperature of −40°…+55 °C ensure that the luminaire can withstand both summer heat and northern winter conditions.

Flexible pole mounting

GALAXY is available with both central mounting (S4) and side mounting (A4). It can be installed on a 48–60 mm diameter pole or arm, and the adjustable joint allows the mounting angle to be adjusted.
